Community Education
A hands-on workshop series helping adults 55+ use artificial intelligence with confidence, clarity, and no jargon. We come to you.
Why This Matters
Most AI training is built for corporate teams, tech workers, and people who already feel comfortable with technology. That leaves an entire generation behind.
AI For Real Life was built differently. No assumed knowledge. No intimidating jargon. Just practical tools, taught by people who understand your community, designed for the way older adults actually live and communicate.
And because one of our facilitators is in her 60s herself, the room feels like a conversation, not a lecture.
Learning Outcomes
Every session is built around practical skills participants can use the same week, not abstract concepts.
Hands-on time with ChatGPT and similar tools. Participants leave having actually used them, not just heard about them.
Writing emails, researching health information, planning trips, drafting letters. Real tasks, real practice.
What's safe to share online, how to spot AI-generated misinformation, and how to protect personal information.
Every participant takes home a simple, clear one-page guide they can refer back to anytime.
Workshop Formats
Choose the format that fits your programming goals and budget. Both include everything your participants need.
A focused 90-minute session that introduces AI tools through hands-on demonstration and guided practice. Perfect for orgs testing the waters or looking to offer a one-time educational event for their community.
Three weekly sessions that build on each other progressively. Participants get real practice between sessions, return with questions, and leave the series with genuine AI fluency they can sustain independently.
Pilot Pricing Available
We're currently offering a reduced-rate pilot to select Columbus organizations in exchange for a testimonial and post-session feedback. Ask us about availability.
Your Facilitators
Content strategist and digital educator with hands-on experience helping creators and communities navigate the digital landscape. Simone designs the curriculum and leads each session with the same directness and warmth she brings to every client relationship.
Our 61-year-old co-facilitator has kept up with technology throughout her entire career. She didn't just adapt. She stayed curious, stayed current, and can speak directly to the experience of learning new tech at any age. Her presence in the room changes everything. When a participant thinks "this isn't for people like me," she's the living proof that it is.

Common Questions
Do participants need to bring their own devices?
No. We can structure the session so participants observe and follow along without devices. If your facility has computers or tablets available, even better. We work with whatever you have.
Is there a minimum or maximum group size?
Single workshops are designed for up to 25 participants. The series works best with 15–20. If you have a larger group, we can discuss splitting into multiple sessions.
Do you require a projector or special equipment?
We bring our own laptop. You provide a projector or large screen so participants can follow along. Most community rooms already have this. If yours doesn't, let us know and we'll problem-solve together.
Can you customize the curriculum for our audience?
Yes. We ask a few questions about your community before every engagement so we can tailor examples and language appropriately. A senior center in a healthcare-adjacent area might get different examples than a workforce development cohort.
What if our participants have little to no tech experience?
That's exactly who this is built for. We start from zero and build up. No assumed knowledge, no jargon, no moments where someone is expected to already know something.
Is this available outside Columbus?
Currently, we focus on Central Ohio organizations. For organizations outside the Columbus metro area, contact us and we'll talk about what's possible.
